2023 Lexus RX350 Review

The RX350 is the pioneer of the premium crossover SUV class, and it continues to be a big name in automotive luxury. It can do it all from cruising and providing you an unmatched driving experience, to being practical and reliable for daily usage.

The new RX 350 2023 is out, and the following is its review:

Features

The fifth generation of the Lexus RX has just been launched and it has been redesigned completely. The new RX 350 is the non-hybrid model, and it offers five trim levels (one F Sport model) and a powertrain option. Lexus offers you a lot of features, even on the lower models.

Powertrain and Numbers

Going for the all-new Lexus RX 2023 means that you get a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine that’s good for 275 hp and 317 lb-ft. It sends power to a front-wheel drive system courtesy of an 8-speed automatic gearbox. All-wheel drive is optional here.

The RX 350 can hence accelerate quite well when you put your foot down. It can go from 0 to 62 mph in about 7 seconds if you opt for AWD. The maximum towing capacity is 3500 lbs, while it can haul up to 1399 lbs.

Then you have the fuel economy, which is also great due to the state-of-the-art setup under the hood. The EPA rates it for 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway with FWD. AWD causes a slight dent on these numbers, giving you 21 mpg city and 28 highway.

Of course, the 2023 Lexus RX350h, gets you up to 37 mpg in the city; 34 on the highway.

Interior and Technology

Throughout the RX’s tenure, Lexus has never disappointed in terms of the interior’s aesthetics, or the quality of the materials used. The new RX350 2023 doesn’t either, featuring a spacious cabin that can seat up to five occupants with ease.

Now, this wouldn’t really be a crossover without a fair amount of storage space. The 2023 RX models feature a capacious trunk that can be expanded by folding down the second row of seats and also feature cubby storage that’s more than adequate.

You get high-end black cascade interior trimmings and a leather-trimmed steering wheel to start you off. For tech, there’s multi-zone climate control, push-button ignition, keyless entry, remote start, and ambient mood lighting. The front seats are 8-way power-adjustable and heated.

Then there’s the infotainment centered around a massive 9.8-inch touchscreen, an instrumentation scream, and a premium 12-speaker stereo. Other niceties include Wi-Fi hotspot, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and multiple USB ports and power outlets.

There’s a whole suite of safety features as well. You get automated emergency braking (w/pedestrian and cyclist detection), lane-departure warning (w/lane-keeping assist), a backup camera, and adaptive cruise control (w/lane-centering).

The RX350 Premium trim has sophisticated ash bamboo interior and black open-pore wood trimmings. Add-ons include heated and ventilated front seats, with the driver getting memory settings as well. There’s also a wireless phone charger, parking sensors, and a moonroof.

On the RX Premium Plus, you get a perforated leather-trim interior, and a heated wood- and leather-trimmed steering wheel. Other stuff includes thematic ambient lighting and a bigger 14-inch touchscreen.

2023 Lexus RX350 F Sport
The 2023 RX350 F Sport comes with NuLuxe upholstery and dark graphite aluminum trim. While it loses some features to make the car lighter, it gains sporty F Sport ones such as a perforated leather-trimmed steering wheel and shift knob, aluminum pedals and scuff plates, and front seats with enhanced bolsters.

Exterior and Driving

The new Lexus RX looks sharper and more high-end than ever thanks to its new exterior design. Features include bi-LED headlamps and DRLs, LED fog lamps and taillamps, heated outside mirrors, with the driver’s-side receiving auto-dimming.

The F SPORT model gets its own roof rails, side-view mirrors, front fascia and mesh grille insert, rear valance, and badging. The wheel sizes vary from 19-to 21-inches with varying designs and finishes.

With the all-new Lexus RX350 2023, you’re treated to a smooth and quiet engine that gives you ample power to cruise around comfortably. The handling is very composed, and the steering is responsive. Opting for the F Sport model should improve the driving dynamics even further.

Reliability and Warranty

The 2023 RX 350 gets a score of 85 out of 100 from JD Power in predicted reliability, putting it in the ‘Great’ category, and getting it the #1 spot in the midsize luxury SUV class. The reviews from its current owners are also positive in this regard.

Then you have two major warranties, a limited warranty which is good for 4 years/50k miles, and a powertrain components warranty, which will cover you for 6 years/70k miles. Both are great for the class, and you also get complimentary maintenance for 1 year/10k miles.

Verdict

We can henceforth say that the Lexus RX 350 is just as big of a bargain as it was two decades ago. It offers you immense capabilities in the form of driving dynamics, comfort, towing, and fuel efficiency. On the inside, you get a premium environment thanks to a high-quality build and the host of standard safety and convenience features. The aftersales is also the best in the class.
